Omid Nabavi
Vicky Francken nam als gast Omid Nabavi mee. Hij is een student en dichter uit Iran. Ook hij droeg een (Engelstalig) gedicht voor:
Unwiltable
You revolted with light
You refused erasure
You did not shut off
And besieged the small abyss
Of impenetrable eyeholes, with saturated life
It was overly tempting for amphibians
They preferred the mud
"Renounce!" Squealed the judge.
No.
"Then move this flower to a smaller pot.
Fragile shell with no rights."
Women buried, erased life, freedom denied.
Sadly for them, she had roots that were centuries long.
Sentenced for sentences
Execution in progress
A formality, an executive byproduct
Of self-sanctified snivelings
"Kill the Agnostic, how dare you doubt?" He shouts
They question none, tolerate no question
Pre-written, prescribed
Pre-devised solutions, on the spot
God talks through the torturer's mouth
And he has never been wrong.
When your life means nothing
Decide
Which is more frightening
The hierarchy, the weapons, or his touch?
Or the fact that her voice, her choices can end up in void.
Constant anticipation of intrusion.
Hey guard, it's bedtime, hush the screams
Is the sun still glowing, on dewdrops?
She is the imaginative type
Imagine if your hand went through the wall
Silly, the wall is physical
Only her spirit seeps through
They believed they confined her
Until this poem reached you.
